Went to clinic two days ago, unfortunately no NHS availability so paid private. I found the charges very reasonable and in my case absolutely value for money I got a next day appointment, examination, several X rays and finally an extraction. My thanks to all the staff from the ladies in reception who couldn't have been more caring and helpful, to the dentist and his assistant who were professional and made sure I understood each stage. I am 81 and they were extremely patient. To anyone needing dental treatment, and can't get NHS, I would strongly recommend My Dentist in Armthorpe.

I used this Dentist a few years back and at first I thought it was brilliant no issues but when a dentist at the surgery publicly makes comments about NHS patients “costing more money than they are worth” I wouldn’t ever go back. In the end I ended up having the work done at a different dentist and the results were so much better and a hell of a lot more professional.

I’m incredibly grateful to Dr. Emmanuel and the team at this clinic for finally resolving my wisdom tooth issue. I had been experiencing severe pain and recurring gum inflammation for over a year. Despite bringing it up several times at my previous clinic, I was only advised to maintain better oral hygiene and was occasionally prescribed antibiotics—none of which solved the root problem. Thankfully, I was eventually referred to this clinic, where a proper extraction was arranged. The procedure itself was quite challenging, as my wisdom tooth was fully impacted and growing sideways. However, Dr. Emmanuel and the nurse on duty that day handled the situation with great patience, professionalism, and adaptability. The surgery was ultimately successful, and my wound has been healing very well. I'm truly thankful for their support and care throughout the entire process. Highly recommended!

I’ve been with this dentist for over 35 years but since my regular dentist retired I’ve had a number of issues. Our usual dentist retired almost 2 years ago now. Myself and my daughter were regularly seen together for checkups and we were both originally told we would both be transferred over to Pedro who was the new nhs dentist at the time. Before our regular dentist fully retired he reduced his hrs so appointments became more difficult and although I was able to be seen before he fully retired there wasn’t any availability for my daughter so she was seen by Pedro (the dentist we were both told we would automatically be transferred over to) Fast forward 6 months and I call to say I’m due a check up (based on the advice from my previous long term dentist) only to be told I don’t currently have a dentist and turns out neither did my daughter. Pedro now only works part time NHS and the rest he does private so only a small number of patients had been transferred over and we had to wait until a new NHS dentist could be recruited. However, if we wanted to be seen privately we could be seen the next day!! When I questioned this and highlighted my concerns they got back to me stating that because my daughter had been seen once previously by Pedro, she could be transferred to his NHS list but I was refused! I would have to wait to be contacted once a new NHS dentist was recruited and no time scale could be given. They couldn’t tell me why some people had been transferred over and not others nor could they tell me any criteria for who or why and just that I had to either wait or pay private. Fast forward another year and I find out from a friend that they have a new NHS dentist and have had for a while!! So, I call and ask to make an appointment for a check up, scale & polish. I didn’t have to wait long for the appointment and I’m to be seen by Grace. Finally!! My appointment was a very short appointment… Grace asked me a few questions, had a quick look & took some up-to date x-rays & I was told to book back in for my scale & polish & some bonding on some exposed sensitive areas where my gums have receded. Obviously this still comes at a cost even on the NHS but I was just happy and relieved to finally have a dentist again. Oral hygiene has always been very important to me but paying private was just not an affordable option. I’ve since had my 2nd appointment with Grace and whist first impressions were good…. She was polite, professional and seems knowledgeable… I’m sorry to say she was what I can only describe as rough! I’m absolutely not a wimp when it comes down to anything like this and I can happily tolerate a certain level of discomfort (least of all a scale and polish) but this was a painful experience all round. To make matters worse I still have tarter build up visible on the back of my bottom teeth which seems to have been completely missed, the composite offered to reduce sensitivity has only been added on one side and I’m now having far more discomfort/pain where the composite has been added. I hoped this was just soreness from the appointment and it would settle over time but it’s not. My mouth still feels dirty with the tarter, my sensitivity has increased on the side I’ve had the treatment and with all the misinformation previously given I’ve felt compelled to write this review. 😢 After 35 years plus as a patient here I’m very disappointed and feel very let down. There has been no continuity of care offered and as a family we have been literally just disregarded. My parents were told the same regarding their registration and both have had no option but pay for private treatment.

Emanuel and Hannah are a first class team. Having had a long treatment I have seen them bi-monthly. Always smiling and welcoming. Emanuel always explains everything and checks if you have any questions. Hannah always organised and the boss of the operation 😄 I wouldn’t go anywhere else, be it treatment or a check up or whitening. Their customer care is excellent - unlike their singing on insta. Thanks guys you provide a great service

I have just completed a course of treatment for a tooth abscess with Emmanuel and Hannah. Over several appointments, Emmanuel diagnosed the issue, prescribed anti-biotics and performed a root canal which has successfully corrected the problem. I think Emmanuel is an excellent denist as he is both caring and friendly. He is always thorough and attentive in his care, and his work is always of the highest quality, Highly recommended.

Another good experience at the dentist today, Joe and his assistant, make you feel at ease, even though I don't like visiting, because I've had bad experiences with other dentist in the past. 5* from me.
